BREATHITT COUNTY WATER DISTRICT GROUNDBREAKING FOR NEW WATERLINE

LEXINGTON KY, MARCH 16, 2006: Judge Executive Lewis H. Warrix joined Breathitt County Water District Officials at a groundbreaking ceremony for the $1.0 million Town Hill Waterline Project. The ceremony was held Monday at the project site in Jackson, KY.

Paid for completely by grants to the county, and slated for completion next summer, the waterline project will increase the supply of water to the western portion of the county, through the City's existing system, and provide residents in this area with treated drinking water.

Project Engineer Paul D. Nesbitt, PE, LS, noted that "Breathitt County is one of the last counties in Kentucky lacking rural water service, and Nesbitt Engineering, Inc. is proud to be a part of this important investment in the future of Breathitt County."

"Providing public drinking water to all residents of Breathitt County is one of the most important tasks I have, and this is the third project in our continuing effort to make public water available to all residents of Breathitt County." Judge Warrix stated. The judge indicated he plans to continuously keep an application for waterline funds on the desks of the funding agencies until all residents of Breathitt County can be provided with public water.

Participants in the groundbreaking ceremony included Paul Nesbitt, PE, LS, President of Nesbitt Engineering, Inc., Operator Shannon Moore, Judge Executive Lewis H. Warrix, and Breathitt County Water District Board Member Vurl Fugate.
